Moscow, 26 May 2025 – A delegation of the African Union of Broadcasting led by Director General Grégoire Ndjaka met senior executives of Russia Today in Moscow to deepen international media cooperation, content exchange and professional capacity building.
The talks focused on improving the direct circulation of Russian information in Africa and African information in Russia. AUB highlighted the role of its AUBVision content-exchange platform in facilitating more direct and balanced access to content.
The two organisations discussed content strategy, branding, adaptable recorded programmes and technical infrastructure. RT proposed supplying content that African partners could adapt to local needs, while AUB emphasised the importance of giving priority to the message and editorial relevance.
Training was another major area of cooperation. The organisations agreed to organise online sessions for African media professionals, with the possibility of expanding the programme to in-person training.
The meeting also covered technical cooperation and co-production. RT executives expressed interest in deeper engagement with African broadcasters, while AUB proposed strengthening cooperation through AUBVision and shared infrastructure.
At the end of the visit, Grégoire Ndjaka met RT Director General Vera Kharina, who reaffirmed her commitment to continuing and expanding the strategic partnership with AUB.
